Houston experienced a severe drought in history
The fourth largest city in the United States, Houston, suffered a severe drought, thus announcing mandatory restrictions of water supply. The condition is caused by a long dry season and continuity.

Step restriction was issued by the Mayor of Houston, Annise Parker. The mayor of Houston advise residents to fix all the leaks that can be known within 72 hours. Besides outdoor irrigation is also limited, to two days a week.
According to Parker, Houston will start with an informal warning and campaigns. To succeed in these water saving measures, for residents who get caught repeatedly violated will incur a fine.
Other measures taken to save water is the cancellation of plans to wash the windows and buildings, termination city vehicle washing and equipment, except for urgent maintenance, safety and health. Irrigation systems which had been running in the city are also audited.
