List of the largest ships in the world
A ship, supposing is a building that floats on the water. Any size varies, ranging from the small to the charge a few people, up to a very large size about the size of a skyscraper. Well this is the size of the world’s largest ship ever built in the world, and even still in active use.
1. Pierre Guillaumat

Largest ship ever built in the world, is 4 supertankers Batillus class, French-made in the late 70’s. This vessel has a 555,000 deadweight tons, and 414 meters long. The launch was conducted from the shipyard Chantiers de l’Atlantique at Saint Nazaire.
The only larger ship was the Knock Nevis jumbo; ex Jahre Viking, ex Seawise Giant, ex Porthos, in 1981. But the supertankers from Batillus class has a larger gross tonnage, so that could be considered greater than the Knock Nevis.
The four ships of the class Batillus are as follows:
• Batillus, made in 1976, rested 1985.
• Bellamya, made in 1976, rested 1986.
• Pierre Guillaumat, made in 1977, rested 1983.
• Prairial, made in 1979, (also known as “Hellas Fos” and “Sea Giant”)
2. Super Tanker Knock Nevis

This is the king of all supertankers, and perhaps if viewed from its dimensions is the largest ship ever built. What is clear to the still operational, this vessel is the largest. The story was quite interesting career journey.
First of all these ships have been called:
• Seawise Giant
• Porthos
• Happy Giant
• Jahre Viking
• Knock Nevis
Knock Nevis, or T.T. Jahre Viking is the largest ship ever built. This is a super tanker with a class ULCC (Ultra Large Crude Carrier), vessel length is 485 meters (1503 feet), if the ship is standing then the ship will be taller than the Petronas Twin Tower.
Jahre Viking has a depth of 25 meters fully laden. Because of their large size, the Jahre Viking can not pass through the Panama canal and Suez canal and even the English Channel, was not passable. Cargo capacity (deadweight tonnage) of Jahre Viking is 564.763 tons, Jahre Viking can carry about 650 000 m³ (4.1 million barrels) of crude oil (crude oil) once sailed.
Jahre Viking was originally built with a displacement of 480,000 tons by Sumitomo Heavy Industries yard in Japan in 1975 with hull number 1016, which later was named Seawise Giant.
3. Cargo Ship Emma Maersk

Container Ship One of the largest in the world, of course, is owned by the company’s biggest owner of Container Ship-Maersk Group. The ship is named EMMA Maersk, is the largest Container Ship that has been operated.
This ship is capable of loading almost 11.000 TEU’s (Twenty feet Equivalent Units), not less than 1,400 containers are more than the ability to fit other boats. That’s according to vessel stability boundary in accordance with company policy, assuming the weight per container 14 tons. But this ship is basically designed to be able to contain 14.500 TEU’s.
The ship was built by Odense Steel Shipyard Denmark in 2006. There is an interesting fact when the ship is being built, where a large fire on the deck of the accommodation and bridge decks that cause much damage. But everything can be repaired quickly and the ship completed on time. The ship is named EMMA Maersk, which is the name of the wife of Maersk Mc-Kinney Maersk-founder of the Group.
4. Cruise Ship Queen Mary II

Largest and most luxurious cruise ships that operate for the time being is the Queen Mary 2. Queen Mary 2 operates under the flag of the Cunard Line, which owns the largest cruise ship before the Queen Mary. Queen Mary 2 was registered in Suthampton, United Kingdom.
Queen Mary 2 Construction cost around 900 million U.S. dollars, it is one of the most expensive ship ever built. But construction costs are comparable with the luxury of that much on offer, the Queen Mary 2 is “The most luxurious pearl in the crown of cruise liners.”
The exterior of the Queen Mary 2 is handled by the architect Stephen Payne reliable. A very large size to be the biggest obstacle in creating comfort for passengers. For example, Chimney ships should be designed for flue gas produced by boat engines do not cause pollution in the vicinity of the upper deck which is the most crowded public area on board.
5. Berge Stahl

Berge Stahl is listed in Stavanger, Norway. This vessel previously registered in Monrovia, Liberia. This ship was built in 1986 by Hyundai Heavy Industries. This ship is now owned by Singapore company BW Group.karena very large size, this ship can only be fully docked at two ports in the world namely, the Terminal Maritimo de Ponta da Madeira in Brazil and the Europoort near Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
6. Carrier, USS Enterprise

Well if this ship is most famous big ship in the world. What else could warships United States Navy. Of the many wars the U.S. Navy fleet, the largest aircraft carrier of the Nimitz class. Supercarrier Nimitz class is equipped with each 2-made Westinghouse nuclear reactors driving four steam turbine that is connected with a 4 propeller shaft.
Turbinnya engine produces 260,000 horsepower to drive ships with a speed of 30 + knots. By this means the ship’s nuclear reactor does not need refueling for 20 years. With the logistic system which is owned by the U.S., Navy allow this ship to sail round the world non-stop without having to stop and lean against the port to recharge the logistics.
With a length of 340 meters, 78 meters beam and draft of 12 meters, Nimitz-class supercarrier has a displacement of 101.196 tons. Total crew onboard is 5.700, consisting of 3.200 sailors and 2,500 air wing. Total aircraft that can carry is 85 units which is a combination of the F-18e / F Super Hornet, EA-6B Prowler, E-2 Hawkeye, C-2 Greyhound, SH/HH-60 Seahawkdan S-3 Viking. In addition, the United States also has another aircraft carrier, the size is also large.
